For a taste of the way in which 'management' and 'personal development' are intertwined in the contemporary workplace visit the website of management guru Tom Peters. This is chock full of material but please treat as a topic not a resource! Tom shows us that corporate capitalism now dresses casual but cannot abide negative thinking (see picture below).
